A prang

It's nearing the end of 2006, the month being December, I reflect and wonder how time really flies. It has been ages ago in blogsphere that I last updated my blog, I look back and noticed that my last entry was on the 17th of November, the month which I was born, the month which I first set foot in this world. November being the penultimate month, seems to bring more downsides rather than upsides.

For starters, the begining of the month sees my newly acquired preowned car being banged into. Yup, I haven't even started paying for it's first installment. A school bus, painted bright yellow/ amber just nonchalantly banged my stationary, parked ride and casually ran off. I wonder if that's the normal tactic that is being employed by drivers throughout Malaysia? I holler at the driver to stop but as it seems, he just ignored and ran off. I bet 20 years ago, things like this wouldn't happen as people were more emphatic then.

It pisses me off so much that I HAD to report to the traffic police. I lodged a report the same day. It was required by law to report within 24 hours, failing which will made all claims null and void. I did my civic duty to report but imagine to my dismay, the crowd that is there makes the immigration department's queue seems like a stroll in a park! I wonder if laws concocted in malaysia is meant to inconvinience the public? Whoever have the will power to wait hours to merely report a prang? I couldn't believe my ears when I was informed that all KL vehicular accidents are handled by just one police station, which explains the overwhelming crowd. I reckon many victims are turned off and disgusted by this queue. I was too, but I preservered and lodged my report after a few harrowing and irritating hours.

My aim of reporting is not to claim insurance, my aim is to press a point to that driver in the amber school bus. You cannot hit and run, especially when you are given the responsibility and the trust to usher school going kids. To the driver of bus number BAT1010, this is a lesson that I am teaching you, that is to be responsible.
